Affordable Holiday Outfit Ideas

"But what will I wear?!" - The Grinch

Who else loves picking out outfits for the holidays?! Whether it's for Christmas Eve dinner with the fam or a night in with friends, it's the time of year we can get away with wearing a little more sparkle and a lot more RED! I love to get dolled up and throw together a classy outfit, and the holiday's are the perfect time to do just that. Although Christmas parties and get togethers may look a bit different this year, I say you still throw on that outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, pour yourself a glass of wine, and dance around the house to your favorite Christmas music.

To help you get inspired, I wanted to share affordable outfit ideas that can be dressed up or down, depending on the setting of the event. You can shop the items in the photo through the corresponding link below the photo. You can also shop all of my looks here as well!

Potluck Dinner

Casual dinner at someone's house = stretchy pants and a big sweater! Usually this type of event calls for eating lots of food and sitting around catching up with loved ones. To keep your outfit fun yet comfortable, I'd reach for leather leggings or your stretchy jeans and an oversized sweater. The white sweater I'm wearing below is my FAVORITE and a staple in my closet all Winter long. You can always dress up these outfits with fun jewelry as well. As for shoes, flats or mules will do! OR fuzzy house slippers if you're hosting, duh. :)

Outfit Details: Turtleneck Batwing Sweater (wearing size M, comes in multiple colors), Faux Leather Leggings (wearing size M), Similar Red Flats - here & here, Red Matte Lipstick (color "Trust Me"), Victoria Emerson Wrap Bracelet, Small Gold Hoop Earrings

Outfit Details: Crew Neck Knit Sweater (wearing size S, comes in multiple colors), High-Waisted Jeans (wearing size 4 long), House Slippers, Gold Hoop Earrings, Red Matte Lipstick(color "Trust Me")

Girls Night In - Secret Santa Style

...or when we're not in the middle of a pandemic, these would be great for a GNO, too! It's always fun to get together for wine and Secret Santa with your girls during the holidays, and there's no better time to pull out those red statement earrings and girly blouses than when you're with them! Don't be afraid to be bold with your choices here if that's what you're in to. What makes fashion fun is when you allow your personality to shine through your personal style!

Outfit Details: Long Sleeve Ruffle Blouse (wearing size S), High-Waisted Jeans (wearing size 4 long), Red Matte Lipstick(color "Trust Me"), Handmade Clay Earrings

Cocktail Party

I'm not sure how many of these we'll be attending this year, bc #COVIDRuinsEverything, but cocktail parties are the best time to get dolled up and grab something a bit fancier from your closet. A black skirt, dress, or jumpsuit with red lips is a classic holiday look for an event like this. Add in a pair of heels or over the knee boots to really spice it up!

Outfit Details: Turtleneck Long Sleeve Bodysuit (wearing size S), Faux Suede Bodycon Mini Skirt (wearing size 4-6, fits a bit big so I would size down), Over the Knee Boots, Victoria Emerson Wrap Bracelet, Handmade Clay Earrings, Red Matte Lipstick (color "Trust Me")

Outfit Details: Off the Shoulder Bodysuit (wearing size S), Similar Heels - here, Red Matte Lipstick(color "Trust Me"), Handmade Clay Earrings, Victoria Emerson Wrap Bracelet

Family Photos, Church, or Dinner Out On The Town

Or as I like to call it, a classic holiday look for any occasion! I feel like we're always on the go during the holidays and there may be a night you go from church, out to dinner, then back to the house for dessert and wine. In this situation you definitely want to be in something comfortable yet a little more dressy, so a maxi skirt or paper bag pants work perfect in these situations! Adding a sequin top to one of these can dress it up in an easy, yet comfortable way. This black lightweight sweater is another staple in my closet and goes with just about anything. I need MORE! :)

Outfit Details: Sequin Tank (wearing size S, color "Beige"), Chiffon Maxi Skirt (wearing size S, color "Jungle"), Small Gold Hoop Earrings, Victoria Emerson Wrap Bracelet, Red Matte Lipstick(color "Trust Me")

I hope these holiday outfits gave you some inspiration for your upcoming events this year! Tis the season for celebrating, drinking good wine, eating even better food, relaxing, loving, and everything in between. Let's look cute doing it!
